The Larnaca Cinema Society and the Office of the European Parliament in Cyprus, present the films that are competing for this year's LUX Audience Award.

We start this series of screenings with the film 'Alcarass', winner of the first prize award at the 2022 Berlinale Film Festival.

Synopsis: A family spends their last summer on a Catalan farm they've lived for years, but lose it to the new legal owner. 'Alcarras' is a film that looks at an era that, together with its traditions and carelessness, under the pressure of a controversial development, is becoming extinct.

The LUX Audience Award is awarded every year by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, in collaboration with the European Commission and Europa Cinemas. The award honors European Cinema and aims to raise awareness of social, political and cultural issues in Europe.
